How scoring works

  • 3 points — exact final score (e.g. you said 2-1, it ended 2-1).
  • 1 point — correct outcome only (right winner or right draw, wrong score).
  • 0 points — wrong outcome.

Tie-break across players: most exact scores → most correct outcomes → earlier registration.

When predictions open and close

Group Stage

All 72 group-stage predictions must be saved at least 2 hours before the first match of the tournament(Mexico vs South Africa, Thu 11 Jun · 21:00 Malta → lock at 19:00 Malta). Once locked, no changes are possible.

Round of 32

Opens the moment Group Stage predictions close (Thu 11 Jun · 19:00 Malta). Locks 2 hours before the first R32 match (Sun 28 Jun · 19:00 Malta → lock at 17:00 Malta).

Round of 16

Opens the moment Round of 32 predictions close. Locks 2 hours before the first R16 match (Sat 4 Jul · 19:00 Malta → lock at 17:00 Malta).

Quarter Finals

Opens the moment Round of 16 predictions close. Locks 2 hours before the first QF match (Thu 9 Jul · 22:00 Malta → lock at 20:00 Malta).

Semi Finals

Opens the moment Quarter Final predictions close. Locks 2 hours before the first SF match (Tue 14 Jul · 21:00 Malta → lock at 19:00 Malta).

Third Place & Final

Open together the moment Semi Final predictions close. Both lock 2 hours before the Third Place match (Sat 18 Jul · 23:00 Malta → lock at 21:00 Malta).

Important: for rounds from the knockouts onwards, teams are updated according to the fixtures. These are auto-populated in the system once the fixtures are confirmed.

Knockouts — extra time and penalties

  • Extra time: if a match is level at 90 minutes and a goal is scored in extra time, the result used for scoring is the score after 120 minutes (full 90 + 30 of ET). Players who predicted that winner get 1 point (or 3 if the exact 120'-score is correct).
  • Penalty shootout: if a match is still level after extra time and is decided on penalties, the recorded score stays as the extra-time draw (e.g. 1-1). The penalty shootout result does not add or change any points.
  • Bottom line: if you predicted a team to win full time and the match went to penalties, you score 0 — even if your team won on pens. A predicted draw with the correct ET score scores 3; a predicted draw with the wrong score scores 1.
